So far looking on eBay has been the easy way to find Narrow boats that are up for sale. They have great pictures of boats and really make me want to just go and get one. I found this one today, It is a new build and really says luxury. Even being a new build it still looks traditional in the layout and design.

I still have not been able to figure out why caravan builders and Narrow boat builders do not sit down and build a narrow boat together. A caravan is the same width as a narrow boat and seven meters long or twenty one foot and sleeps five. From all the things I have managed to find on narrow boats they are not really well planned out. Most fifty foot boats only have two births with option to add two by building the an extra bed. They are more than twice as long as a caravan and the space is not really used to it full potential. I have managed to put this down to tradition and so have spent a lot of time looking into small spaces people live in and ways to use what I will call smart furniture. You will see from the pictures what I mean by traditional.

NICE BUT HERE IS SOME
 FOOD FOR THOUGHT

1) Why does the kitchen not have shelves on the wall they do not have to be deep but could store
mugs cup and glasses with perspex or glass sliding door to stop stuff falling out.

2) How about a full on wet room where you wash brush teeth and then step out to get dry the bain could fold away in the shower and that would allow a separate toilet so guests do not start bobbing around the door or you watching the sombody on the toilet or vice versa.

3) A bed the folds up against the wall and a desk folds out so you can get some work done with comfort.
4) The space above the bed is untouched where a pod could be hung over the bed even if it is a foot or so it would leave you with loads space to sit on the bed you just wont be standing on it.

5) I am sure if you take any person that lives on a Narrow boat and asked them they will tell you all the things that should be changed on this narrowboat to make it more comfortable.
